This report from WorkL analyses data from more than 300,000 employees across 60,000 organisations globally, reporting that 2023 was a challenging year for employers and employees alike.

Pay was a central issue for employees in 2023, evidenced by the number of labour strikes in the UK – the most industrial disputes seen in more than a decade. Survey results indicate that better pay is UK worker’s highest priority for 2024.

In addition to salary considerations, the report highlights the acute challenge faced by employers when it comes to talent recruitment and retention, namely creating a workforce with not just the right employees but also enough employees.
